KISS Foundation was set up to empower the tribal population living in extreme poverty, focusing on formal education and skill development for their upliftment.

Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta recognised the potential of the youth that, can bring about a positive transformation in the tribal community. In 1993, he built KISS residential school and enrolled 125 tribal students, providing accommodation, food, healthcare, education, and skill training from kindergarten to post-graduation free of cost. As of today, the foundation houses over 30,000 students from 62 tribes of Odisha, advocating for their community and making an impact at the grassroots.

KISS has had a positive impact on thousands of tribal lives through direct intervention and community participation. It has addressed various concerns related to tribal development, including tribal children’s education, livelihood, health concerns, cultural integration, sports and development, and continues to do so on a massive scale.
