Holistic Education

KISS empowers neglected and deprived tribal children by providing food, shelter, healthcare and education free of cost in its residential facilities. The foundation’s ultimate goal is to enhance the quality of life of the tribal community by providing them access to quality education. The KISS model is already making progress in tackling problems such as illiteracy, poverty, malnutrition and child labour in its two decades of existence.

An institution that was conceptualized to help the tribals, KISS houses 62 communities, including 13 primitive ones. Once the foundation admits a child, it covers everything from education, lodging, meals, and medical care to vocational and athletic training. A child can join from Standard I and study all the way up to a PhD. In addition to basic education, the foundation simultaneously imparts life skills to ease a child’s transition into adult life, and subsequently, join the workforce. In fact, many students of KISS go on to pursue professional courses at KIIT University as 5% of its seats are reserved for tribal students. This model is already bearing fruit, resulting in white-collar and self-employed jobs.
