Dharampal Gulati (1923–2020) was the visionary founder of MDH (Mahashian Di Hatti) Spices, one of India’s most renowned spice brands. Born in Sialkot, British India (now in Pakistan), he migrated to India after Partition and started selling spices from a small shop in Delhi. Through perseverance and business acumen, he transformed MDH into a household name, pioneering the packaged spice industry in India. Fondly known as the “Spice King of India,” Gulati was recognized for his philanthropy, supporting schools and hospitals. His dedication to quality and authenticity made MDH a global success, leaving behind a legacy of flavorful excellence.
