Covid 19 Intervention

KISS Foundation carried out a series of initiatives to help the people of Odisha and provide support to the State Government in the battle against Coronavirus. The priority was to provide food, essential supplies and study material at the doorsteps of tribal families. The foundation reached out to its students, guardians and alumni to extend help and support in all possible ways.

Over three lakh distressed people received help from the foundation by way of food and essential supplies. Children of the deceased were assured livelihood support as well as admission and professional education at KISS. The foundation operated four standalone COVID hospitals across the state with a total capacity of 1200 beds.

Basic essentials and groceries for at least a month were also provided to the Tibetan families settled in Chandragiri and to the monks of Padmasambhava Mahavihara Monastery in Jirang, the largest Buddhist monastery in Eastern India.

Recognising the importance of continuity in the education of the tribal children, KISS held online classes during lockdowns. The foundation reached out to students in the most remote areas and provided all the support necessary to ensure learning doesn’t stop.
