Dr. William Cope

Dr. Bill Cope is a distinguished academic and author, serving as a Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He earned his Ph.D. from Macquarie University in Australia in 1987. Cope’s research focuses on the pedagogical affordances of technology-mediated learning environments, leading several projects funded by organizations such as the Institute of Educational Sciences and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He co-founded Common Ground Publishing, aiming to innovate scholarly communication. From 2010 to 2013, he chaired the Journals Publication Committee of the American Educational Research Association. Cope has authored numerous influential publications on literacy, pedagogy, and educational technologies.
