Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences(KISS) offers unique opportunity to 25 thousands of neglected and deprived tribal children from aborigine society . As a unique transformational model in the world, it offers technical and higher education facilities from KG to PG . It aims at their total development with free food, accommodation , education and skill development.
KISS also provides coaching classes to students to hone their skills and to appear in various competitive examinations, The students are currently being given classes for Civil Services, Railway, Banking, English speaking, etc. which has resulted in students getting jobs in Government establishments, Corporate organizations etc.
Skill development at KISS links education with productivity, economic development & individual prosperity. Every student undergoes vocational education in one of the 50 trades offered as per his or her talent. It is designed to impart necessary occupational skills among tribal students to mould them into successful entrepreneurs & make them fit in the job market. The program also goes by the name of “Earn While you Learn”. The surplus amount after sale of these products are distributed to the students involved.
The children don’t get cash, but instead KISS pool monthly sponsorship donations and leverage the better facilities for maximum effectiveness. It wants to make the children a healthier place to grow up. Depending on the needs of the children, things like clean water systems, improved educations, health clinics, farming, sports training, and skill developments create a vibrant, sustainable future for everyone.
