1. Logistic and Training Assistant

Terms of Reference (ToR)


Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS)  founded by Dr. Achyuta Samanta is the largest residential institute for the tribal’s in the world, providing accommodation, food, health care and education for 27000 tribal students from Std – I to Post Graduation, vocational training and all other basic amenities of life absolutely free with a job after completion of education. It started in the year 1993 with 125 children in a vision to provide quality education to the deprived and underprivileged children of the society. It represents all 62 tribes of the state including 13 particularly vulnerable tribe’s groups (PVTGs).Further; the institute has been granted the status of a deemed to be university by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India

In partnership with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), KISS is undertaking the Project Uday from April, 2018 which is aimed at building young leaders from tribal and most vulnerable regions of the state who can become change agents in their communities. The project will encompass training, capacity building and mentoring support so that Youth are able to connect their communities to various welfare programmes, take up social issues and positively influence peers. Three districts namely Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada have been identified for the project based on percentage of tribal population, literacy rates, development indicators, and vulnerabilities of young people.

KISS is looking for a position of Logistic and Training Assistant based at Bhubaneswar for its UDAY Project.

Job Description:

  • Ensure logistic support during the training of youth such as food, accommodation and training hall coordination etc.
  • Maintain data base of trained youth and  ensure data entry of pre and post assessment formats
  • Coordinate  and support all logistics for the exposure visit of youth during training
  • Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of training materials as well as Youth recognition kit.
  • Travel to the three districts  to  support  in field level trainings and monitor community awareness programs as well as  Social action project by trained youth/Pragati Sathi
  • Periodically attend field level review meetings of cluster coordinators
  • Gather information’s of field level activities and maintain a  data base
  • Support Project Officer and Project Manager  in  smooth implementation of project

 

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in  sociology, social work, psychology, rural development and  any other social science discipline
  • Experience of at least 2 to 3  years in  NGO sector particularly in training management

Essential Skills/Competences

  • Documentation and reporting skills
  • Good coordination and networking skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to field
  • Knowledge and skill on Microsoft  word , excel and PowerPoint

Remuneration

Rs, 15,000/- consolidated per month and with admissible reimbursement of communication, travel, DA as per organisation policy

Duration of Contract:

The position is contractual and initially up to 31st December’2019. Renewal of contract depends on performance as well as extension of the project.

2. Cluster Coordinator

KISS is looking for position of Cluster Coordinators (08) on part time basis based at block level in Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri District for its UDAY Project.

Job Description:

  • The position is part time basis and has to work 15 days in a month for the project.
  • The Cluster Coordinator is expected to act as a link between the Youth Volunteers and the District Coordinators and Regional Coordinator
  • Assist the District Coordinator in facilitating the field level activities such as identification of youths, conduct of sensitization and social action projects
  • Support in identification of case studies and success stories
  • Participate in panchayat, block and cluster level activities.
  • Participate in block and State level review and planning meetings

 

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in  any discipline preferably in social sciences
  • Experience of at least 2 to 3  years in  NGO sector particularly in community mobilization

 

Essential Skills/Competences

  • Good coordination, networking and motivational skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to field

Remuneration:

Rs, 5,000/- consolidated per month which includes food and TA. For travelling in the assigned area, travel expenses as per actual will be paid while participating in review and planning meetings and other programs at District or State level.

Duration of Contract:

The position is contractual and initially up to 31st December’2019. Renewal of contract depends on performance as well as extension of the project.
