10 KISS Students Selected for National Kho-Kho Championship

Three boys and four girls of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have been selected in Odisha Sub-Junior Kho-Kho team for participating in Sub-Junior National Kho-Kho Championship (Boys & Girls) scheduled to be held from 28th August to 1st September 2012 at Bakaro Steel City, Jharkhand. Dalimba Majhi, Mamita Jani and Nagamani Baskey have been selected in the girls’ team while, Sukulal Hembram, Sunaram Kisku, Pradeep Ku. Dehuri and Malaya Ku Majhi have made it to the boys’ team. Similarly, three KISS students have been selected in Odisha Senior Kho-Kho team for Federation Cup (Men) scheduled to be held from 28th August to 1st September 2012 at Bakaro Steel City, Jharkhand. Selected students are Sidhanath Soren, Kalidas Murmu and Narsingh Majhi. Mr. Kalandi Charan Rout, Sports Teacher of KISS will accompany as Coach of Odisha Senior Kho-Kho team for Federation Cup (Men). 

KIIT, KISS Mourn Vilasrao Deshmukh's Death

 Students, staffs and management of KIIT and KISS expressed grief over the demise of Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh, Hon'ble Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences. Shri Deshmukh had visited the two institutes twice during 2011 and 2012, in the run up to the 99th Indian Science Congress at KIIT University. He had won everyone's heart with his charisma and pragmatism. Paying rich tributes to the late Union Minister, Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS said that his guidance, support and contribution in the unprecedented success of the 99th Indian Science Congress can never be forgotten.

KIIT & KISS Celebrate 66th Independence Day

The 66th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor at different campuses of KIIT & KISS. President of KIIT & KISS, Smt. Saswati Bal hoisted the Tricolour and graced the occasion as Chief Guest in KISS. Addressing 22,500 tribal students of the Institute, she advised every student to strive to become a perfect human being. Speaking on the occasion as Guest of Honour, Shri Nilmadhav Panda, eminent cine director said, students should keep in mind what they are doing and how far their works are appropriate. Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS expressed his gratitude to Shri Panda and members of Green Screen Lab for their presence in KISS and KIIT. The occasion was also graced by Ms. Sussan Benn, Founder, Performing Arts Labs (PAL), London and more than 20 nationally and internationally acclaimed film makers and script writers of the Green Screen Team. Mr. R. N. Dash, Secretary, KISS also spoke on this occasion. Dr. P. K. Routaray, CEO, KISS presided over the meeting, while Dr. P. K. Das proposed the vote of thanks. Students presented colourful march past and cultural programmes on the occasion.
