TISS and KISS will promote and initiate relationship between the two institutions in the areas of research, curriculum and pedagogy development, livelihood & skill building, counseling, joint training programmes, seminar and workshops for teachers and students, certificate and diploma programmes, input mechanisms for policy development, etc.

KISS and TISS Sign MoU on Academic Collaboration (28.09.2010)

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), the first institute in the field of social work education in India, and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), the largest tribal institute in the country, agreed upon a Memorandum of Understanding in New Delhi on 28th September 2010. The agreement, which provides for the long-term academic collaboration, was signed between Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KISS and Dr. S. Parasuraman, Director, TISS.

As per the MoU, the two institutes will work in tandem for the development of education. TISS will extend cooperation for developing advanced and value-added teaching materials for the students of KISS. Besides, it will also help KISS in imparting education with modern methods of education delivery.

New curriculum of TISS will be implemented through KISS in near future, according to the sources. After a thorough evaluation of KISS, TISS has decided to start a centre on the premises of KISS, they said.

Dr. Samanta extended his gratitude to the Director of TISS and said that the MoU will significantly help KISS in its objectives.
