LIMCA RECORD FOR KISS

Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) entered the prestigious Limca Book of Records in 2007. The high level delegation from Limca Book of Records led by its Senior Editor, Ms. Arthy Muthana Singh came on an inspection to KIIT and KISS on February 2007. During their visit to Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), the Senior Editor of Limca Book of Records was immensely impressed to know that 5000 tribal children (KISS has since grown bigger, currently having 25,000 tribal students from Odisha and neighbouring states who are pursuing their education from KG to PG) are provided free education alongwith food, accommodation, heath care and other basic amenities absolutely free. She tried to find out the existence of any such institution elsewhere in the country. Her investigation zeroed round KISS and it found its place in the Limca Book as the only Residential school from KG to Class XII in the country exclusively for the tribal children.
