A huge effort and a very interesting place. What really touched me was the zeal to provide continuing education to a large number of children. It is an example for all of us that gives hope and a pattern to persuade, in the country.

-- Ms. Aruna Roy, Noted Social Activist & Ramon Magsaysay Awardee - 2000(10.02.2014)

-- Mr. A. H. M. Noman Khan, Executive Director, Centre for Disability in Development, Bangladesh (11.01.2011)

"I feel as if I am in a temple. KISS shows a way to bring tribal children into the fold of education. We have been dreaming to provide education to the tribal children for long. KISS is a solution. KISS gives hope that it is possible that even poorest of poor can get their right to education in the country and the country can progress through it."

-- Dr. Shantha Sinha, Chairperson, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) & Anti-Child Labour Activist (05.09.2010)

-- Anna Hazare, Noted Social Activist (16.08.2010)

"I am very impressed with the boys and girls from the tribal areas. You are an example for millions of tribals across the world."

-- Mr. Eduardo Jorge Anzorena, The 1994 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee for International Understanding (

"One should come to KISS to see how Gandhiji’s dreams are being realized here. What I have seen here, notably of Samanta’s work, inspires me to rename it as ‘Bharat Tirtha’. Rabindranath Tagore dreamt of a new India, and named it ‘Bharat Tirtha’. I have seen ‘Bharat Tirtha’ today, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and Achyuta Samanta is the Visvakarma who made it possible. It is as good as Shantiniketan, which was set up by a ‘zamindar’. But KISS has been set up by a beggar like Samanta. "

-- Padma Vibhushan Mahasweta Devi, Winner of 1997 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature & Creative Communication Arts, and Jnanpith Awardee (08.09.2009)

-- Mr. Jockin Arputham, Ramon Magsaysay Awardee for Peace and International (2000) (05.10.2009)

"We are extremely impressed to see the works of Dr. Samanta. As many as 10,000 tribal students study in a campus. This is an international record in itself."

-- Dr. Prakash Amte, Ramon Magsaysay Awardee for Community Leadership (2008) (25.09.2009)

"There are many educational institutions, but it is heartening to note the special effort that KISS has been making for tribals. Dr. Samanta has given them the opportunity to stand on their feet by giving them education."

-- Dr. Mandakini Amte, Ramon Magsaysay Awardee (2008) & Social Activist (25.09.2009}
